Eron Bloomgarden, Partner
Eron Bloomgarden is a Partner at EKO Asset Management Partners based in the firm's New York City office. As a pioneer in the development of carbon markets, Eron has advised governments, multilateral institutions, and international corporations on many aspects of the carbon and environmental markets. He has extensive experience in the areas of carbon finance and emissions reduction project development and has worked on several carbon market "firsts" including the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project in the world to receive carbon credits and the first unilateral CDM project. Eron is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University where he teaches environmental markets at Columbia Earth Institute's MS in Sustainability Management Program.
Prior to joining EKO, Eron was President of Equator's Environmental Markets business, an asset management firm, where he had responsibility for carbon and environmental assets throughout the organization. Previously, he was US Country Director at EcoSecurities, the world's largest CDM developer, where he spearheaded the firm's entry into the North American carbon market and managed all aspects of the firm's United States operations including origination, strategic planning, project development, and policy. He is a member of the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Global Agenda Council on Biodiversity and Natural Capital, served on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Markets Association (EMA). and as a Liaison Delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Eron holds an M.P.A. from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and completed the P.L.D. at Harvard Business School.
